Lessons of the Skyline
Over the hill I see
An innocent sky
I lie beneath thee
With my bottle of indecent American rye
Just a star gazing
Straight at me
Like I give a hoot and dime
And a drunken pee
In its intense shine
It seems to say
Looking for your lost love
In a pile of hay
You're just a star
All far away
In my drunken stupor
I mumble away
It twinkles brightly
and lets its glow sway
Points to the moon
A stone's throw away
I get up to gaze at
The vastness of the sky
Only to realize that
The moon is the only different guy
The star winks at me
Again
Seems to say
That's love and pain!
